Nail Polish Review Form

Since the next review will most likely be a nail polish one.

Things of note for how I apply nail polish.  First off the base and top coat used will be Wet N Wild's fast dry Clear Coat or which every Wet N Wild Clear Coat I have on hand as I am guessing they are all the same.  The only exceptions would be if the base coat/top coat came in a kit with the nail polish being reviewed.  Also, I am very bad at applying polish to my nails, it frequently looks like I have dipped my fingers in paint after the initial application.  It does get better, but I do not use nail polish remover to do the clean up because I am even worse at controlling that.  I just let washing my hands, showers, and baths soak the polish on the skin off because it does a much better job than I do and usually in less than 24 hours which is why I always do my nails on days I am pretty sure I am not going to leave the house that evening.

Nail Polish: Brand: # Name

Day Applied: MM - DD - YYYY

Cost: Price I (also read as, my husband) paid because we only buy makeup on sale/clearance.  (Without any discounts)

Coats until same color as the bottle

If a nail polish takes more than 2 coats to be the same color as the bottle, only one nail will be painted more than two coats and it will be one of the nails on my left hand because I am right handed and cannot operate the camera with my left hand.  If you see a picture of my right hand it is because my husband very kindly agreed to take it.  Pictures after each layer beyond two will be supplied.

Cream
Shimmer
Glitter
Other

This section is to tell you what kind of polish it is.  Glitter top coats will get a some what special kind of review and it may be a while before I am able to do one as I need to find a polish I can use as a consistent base coat that will show off the glitter well.

Drying time:

This refers to how long, hopefully in minutes, it took for the polish to be touch dry.  It does not mean it is dry enough to not get imprints in them, just dry enough to lightly touch them, fully dry can take up to 24 hours based on some of my past experiences.

Image after one coat:

Picture of left hand nails after one coat of polish.

Image after two coats:

Picture of left hand nails after two coats of polish.  I am using two coats as my standard number of coats as it seems that once you get beyond two coats most people start getting annoyed with the polish.  Even if the polish is full color after one coat, they will all get two coats for consistencies sake.

Day Two:

I will list any chipping or peeling I see from both hands.

I will show a picture of my left hand nails so you can view how the polish is holding up.

If a polish lists a specific number of days it is supposed to last the above will continue for that number of days.

Website for brand: As mentioned in the eyeshadow review form, I may miss this because these posts will be really long, but if I do notice that I have forgotten one, I will try and add it in at a later time.

If you happen to decide you must see the nail polish I am currently working on, please click to my profile on Google+, link on the right hand side of the blog, and follow me.  I post the pictures of the nails and how they are doing, once a day while the review is in progress but before the post goes up.  You will also see pictures from other reviews before they are actually posted, although it may only be an hour or two before they are posted so not as much pre-knowledge as the nail polish reviews.

With nail polish I am not going to say I recommend or don't recommend something, unless it absolutely doesn't dry, because everyone has different opinions on how well a polish should work.  I have very happily layered five coats of polish on my nails before and it wasn't even because it wasn't full color, but because the thing in your brain that tells you you have done something enough doesn't seem to work on me, at least not for things like nail polish so this will also be an exercise in seeing if I can control my compulsions.  My goal is to give you enough information about how the polish applies and how it wears so that you can decide for yourself if it is worth getting without me saying if I recommend something or not.

Thank you for your time.
