Influenster Review: Schwarzkopf Professional OSiS+ Gelastic

I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

This product was tested on my husband because I have almost no hair thanks to having scalp pain if it grows over 1/4 to 1/2 an inch.

For this product I had two criteria that I was looking for, one from the product claim and one basic daily use criteria that I would have if I were able to use this.

The daily use criteria that I was looking for personally was, will the hair stay looking clean after applying the gel.  It doesn't have any specific claims on the finish it will give your hair other than "firm" which was on the card from influenster and that didn't really tell me a lot about how it was going to look.

The claim on the product was "ultra strong flex gel" with the add-on from influenster that it "provides all day definition and control".  For this I was looking to see how long my husband's hair would stay the way it was set in the morning.

Before I cover the claims of the product and how it worked for my husband, I want to include the English text on the packaging because I know it is not the easiest thing to read text on pictures.

Can barely read the ingredient list and I cannot find it on the company website.  And since I would probably misspell most of it, I am skipping that part.

I also received the above $5 off coupon to purchase more of their product from ULTA BEAUTY.  Because the gelastic was the best of the three products listed for us to try and it will probably last the entire 12 months the bottle says it will be good for, we won't be using the coupon, but if I knew someone who would benefit from it that would actually spend this much on hair products, I would have given it away gladly.

Now on with the review:

A little about my husband's hair; it is short, but long enough that it can be styled and if he doesn't use hair spray or hair gel, he will have bangs hanging down below his eyes.  It is very straight hair as well, but it is in very good condition and has always responded to hair products well in the past.  He does regularly use a hair spray to keep his hair back out of his face when at work.

The first day of use I showed my husband how much to use and how to get it rubbed into his hair as I am pretty sure this was his first time using a hair gel. He applied it the next several days of use himself.

Will the hair stay looking clean after applying the gel?  This appeared to be a yes, even when he applied it himself and my husband is one of those people who believes if a little works well, a lot should work better, so I cannot be certain how much was actually applied after the first go, but his hair never looked greasy which was the main concern.

How long did my husband's hair stay the way it was set?  It actually survived 24 hours, even looking basically the same after sleeping, and his hair never looks the same after sleeping, even when he doesn't have hair spray in it.  We were both very impressed with the hold and the fact that after waking up, it just sort of fell right back into place.

I did ask him if he would convert to using hair gel instead of hair spray from now on and in spite of how well this worked, he did have to say no, but only because he doesn't like getting stuff on his hands.  My husband is not a neat-freak, but he does wash his hands pretty quickly after anything gets on them and so for him, the benefit of not having to get hair spray on his hands holds too much sway for him.  But I do think that this bottle will get completely used over the course of the next 12 months and maybe by then he will have changed his mind.

The question then becomes, is it worth the $18.00 the influenster card said it is normally sold for?  Since I am not familiar with gel hair products and how well lower and higher cost ones work, I cannot really answer this question.  I know that for our very budget minded household this would be a very expensive product when buying it, but if the bottle lasted 12 months it would only be $1.50 a month when all expensed out, which sounds less bad and considering how well it worked, unless I knew something cheaper worked just as well, I would most likely suggest to my husband that we keep buying this one.
